The benefits of a
TRAINING LOG cannot be denied. But don't take my word for it. A
very interesting and concise article listing those benefits can be found at the

After you take a look at this article, I'm confident you will agree a training log can serve many purposes, the most important being it creates confidence and motivation. Sure, a training log provides your coaches with information on your training progress and creates the basis for meaningful dialogue, but it is not our intent to monitor you. We simply want the opportunity to determine what training methods will achieve the results you are looking for. Over the years I have used the site etraxc.com for this purpose. However, after reviewing several on-line training log sites over the past few days I feel internettraininglog.com is the most user friendly site available. If you want to check it out and give it a test "run" simply go to internettraininglogcom and login.
If you have questions or encounter problems entering data I will be happy to help. Use of the log is not mandatory, but I am sincerely hoping you take advantage of it. I will also ask that those who maintain a log bring it to our first practice. We are planning to participate in the Martha’s Vineyard 5k on September 5th and only those capable of completing this distance can attend. An accurate training log will provide evidence of your capabilities. I assure you it will provide you with insight into your own training and assist you in achieving your goals as well as those of the team.
I am putting the finishing touches on our summer training plan. At this point I can only tell you that I am eXCited about holding conditioning sessions similar to those we held last year and that there will be a very flexible summer training plan designed to accommodate any training level. Experienced runners obviously have the base miles from Track & Field, while less experienced or new runners would have a different starting point. The plan, if followed, will have you ready to run a 5K at a competitive pace at the Martha's Vineyard Invitational on September 12th!!
