Things are winding down . . .

Yesterday, Jack and Samantha ran about 40 minutes on the Abington Rail Trail, a nice change of pace from Franklin Street I think.  A flat trail . . . soft on the feet, easy on the legs.  Perfect up to the point a large, unleashed German Shepherd stood in the middle of "his" trail and caused us to do a 180!  The goal was 40 minutes and we essentially accomplished that.  Today they take it down to 30 minutes, and tomorrow, the season's final practice, is a true 20 minute shakeout run.  Admittedly, I am never happy to see the end of the Cross Country season.  But Saturday it ends.  The All-State meet should be exciting and our two kids will be right in the thick of things.  I had hoped to provide details of the year-end "banquet" by now, and I am hoping to hear from the facilities staff at WHRHS soon with available dates.  Check back for information.  For now, enjoy your time off from running.  I hope to see many of you at Indoor Track practice on November 30!  The blog will continue during the winter months with items geared toward the distance runners.  By the time we hold our sign up meeting in May you should all be familiar with what will be expected of you . . . and as you are no doubt aware that means preparation.  Crazy . . . the season has not yet ended and I'm already on my rant for the 2016 Cross Country season!  See you on the road . . .
