Another excellent weather day for activity. I seem to recall that last year started out the same way until late January! The 10 day forecast looks great, so we will take advantage of it. Today is an "easy" day for my group of Distance runners. We will also insert some pick-ups (specifically 4 X 2 minutes) into our 32-40 minute Easy paced run. (32 minutes for those who ran 30 minutes on Monday, 40 Minutes for those who ran 40 on Monday.) Runners World defines pick-ups as:
Accelerations done during a run, normally done in short durations. Pick-ups are simply another way to spice up what would otherwise be an easy-run day.
Longer than a spurt, shorter than a tempo run, but still an effective method for increasing speed and endurance. See you for warm up.
