NO formal practice today does NOT mean we don't practice. Runners, and in particular distance runners, generally get out 6 days a week at this point in the season. Looking ahead, we have a meet on Tuesday at Silver Lake. Monday will be the usual shakeout run in advance of that meet. Today or tomorrow is a day off, leaving one day (either today or tomorrow) to get a good run in. Friday was a relatively easy day and Thursday was a difficult workout. Your weekend run should be long, but EASY. That means somewhere between 45-75 minutes depending on experience and training levels. Our most experienced Boys should be at or near 75 minutes, our less experienced runners (not our injured or recovering athletes) should be at 45. Injured and recovering runners should run, gauge your progress, and extend your run a few (up to 10) minutes at most. Continue with treatment of your injury as discussed with coaches or the Trainer. 10 x 1 Abs for those of you serious about improving your performance. Stretch for ALL!
The D2 Relays will be held next Saturday at Marshfield High School with Boys Field Events starting at 9:30, Girls running events at 10:00. Boys running to follow completion of Girls. Girls field events to follow completion of Boys. The Boys will be entering 5 teams, as will the Girls. Boys event include Triple and High Jumps, Javelin, Discus and 4 X Mile. The Girls will be competing in the 4 x 100, 4 x 200, 4 x 400, Long Jump and Triple Jump. More information on this meet can be found at the following link:
