Regrettably, yesterday's meet did not take place as we'd hoped but has been re-scheduled (tentatively) to Friday at 4:00 PM. Same order, boys then girls. Same course that we worked on this week.
Yesterday's workout was impressive. It is the only type of workout really where we get to observe you through its entirety. Some of you ran phenomenally well. Most of you ran it non-stop. All of you worked hard and to the best of your current abilities. I'm betting the next time we run cruise intervals you will all be phenomenal!
Yesterday went so well in fact, that we may put in a twist to our regular easy running routine today. Occasionally (not every day) it is important to try to test your abilities. By that I mean simply go a little bit harder than what you may find comfortable on an EASY run. I don't think there is any better way to do that than to run alongside a teammate who you know is, at this point, faster than yourself. This won't effect every runner today but perhaps 10 Boys and 10 Girls for now. You will be asked to "buddy up" with another runner and take a crack at running your (pre-determined) route with him/her. We may create groups of three in some instances. So in reality, for those athletes we will have an EASY+ run today given yesterday's workout. Tomorrow, of course, will be very easy in anticipation of Friday's meet. More details will be made available at practice, on the Track at 2:30.
See you all there!
