Columbus Day and Saturday's Practice

The Uniform Monday Holiday Act took effect in 1971.  Up to that time all holidays were celebrated on specific dates.  For example Presidents Day was celebrated as Lincoln's birthday (February 12) and Washington's birthday (February 22.)  Columbus Day was observed on October 12, today's date.  If this were 1968, you would have had today off.  My group, I'm sure, wishes that was the case after today's workout!  Ironically, one of my children, in New York City with friends to see "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" on Broadway, sent me a picture from Columbus Circle in New York City about 20 minutes ago.   Named after . . . you guessed it, Christopher Columbus.  Happy 567th Birthday Chris!

Tomorrow's practice will be held at Forge Pond Park in Hanover at 8:30 AM.  Light rain is in the forecast for 9:00 AM and it will be chilly, compared to what we are used to.  Dress appropriately.  The address for Forge Pond is 245 King Street, Hanover, MA .  Directions from WHRHS are as follows:

See you all there!
