This is apparently a day of "indecision."  I woke up early this morning to learn the results of yesterday's national election are not yet in, and that I'd received an email asking that I lobby for a JV race in next week's Patriot League Championship.  There isn't much I can do about the national election.  I've done my civic duty, now we wait.  As for the JV meet, I sent off an email to Bob Rodgers, who had already gotten behind holding a JV meet next week, asking he continue his support for that race.  We still have a lot of kids practicing, and it would be great to reward them for their commitment and voluntary attendance at practice.  I also hope to hear soon about other year-end matters.  MVP, All-Star selection, Scholar-Athlete and team/individual Sportsmanship Awards hang in the balance.  2020 has been a tough year.  All around.

During our 3 week Competition Period, the nine workout cycle drops VO2 repeats, Hill repeats and Tempo Runs, so heading to the League Meet next Wednesday the schedule has been or will be as follows:

11/2    Recovery Run 1 (12-15% Easy)

11/3    Special Endurance 2 (Small Set Long Rest 2 X 600 with Easy Run Recovery, Total 4 Miles)

11/4    Recovery Run 1 (12-15% Easy)

11/5    Special Endurance 1 (Small Set Long Rest 3 X 250 with Easy Recovery Run, Total 3 Miles)

11/6     Recovery Run 2 (10% Easy)

11/7    Long Run (Varied Distances TBD)

11/8     Off

11/9     Recovery Run 2 (10% Easy)

11/10    Recovery Run 2 (<10% Easy)

11/11     Race

ALL XC and Track athletes are encouraged to follow this plan, whether you've chosen to continue with the team through November 11 or not.  Continuing on with the "indecision" theme, we are looking at ways to keep you safely active in running following the formal end of the Fall season.  I'm told the ADs are in discussion on this topic and if I hear anything at all, you will  be informed as soon as possible.  The entire coaching staff is open to any and all suggestions, and we are willing to do whatever we can to keep you healthy while active in athletics.
