Both the Boys and the Girls Track teams fell to Hingham Friday night at the RLTAC (Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.) Hingham High is fortunate to have a very good coaching staff and a large, talented group of athletes. It came as no shock really that we lost. Despite some very good performances from our kids, we were defeated rather soundly. But the bottom line is this, Hingham Boys had 79 entries into events, while WH had 56. On the Girls side it was Hingham 90, WH 57. The score is almost irrelevant when you're outmanned to that degree. My most frustrating days are those when we have out-of-season soccer players and football players kicking or throwing a ball around on the turf as our kids work their backsides off on the track. There are a lot of good athletes who choose not to participate in our sport. Still I am very proud of the effort put in by our teams and I am very hopeful our best is yet to come. Against Hingham, 75 of our 113 entries resulted in Personal or Season bests. We are improving. Full results of Patriot League Meet #2 can be found at the following link:

I mentioned previously Dr. Jones and Mr. Rodgers threw out a challenge to post covers of 7 books we loved. Entry #2, which I'm certain Mrs. Lindbach (wherever she is) would take some pride in my selecting, is a book I have read countless times since the 9th grade. I have also seen no fewer that 7 movie versions of the story. I have never seen the Broadway show however, and don't intend to, although my wife and daughters loved it.
