Behind the scenes the Patriot League coaches are formulating entry requirements for our League Meet scheduled for Friday, February 8.  Until the specifics are known we will continue to conduct practice for all.  As always we are very understanding of your academic obligations and if you require extra help or have make up requirements that takes precedence.  But don't assume your season is over.  If ultimately you ran your last race of the season yesterday, you will be one day closer to your spring sport (which we hope is Track and Field) and be that much more prepared for its arrival.

Our late finish at yesterday's meet appears to have prevented newspaper reporting of the results but the following was sent to the media regarding the Girls meet:

Whitman Hanson Girls Track (0-5) lost a close one to Plymouth North 54-46 Wednesday evening at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center.  Individual winners for the Panthers included Sophomore Anna Sullivan (2 Mile), Senior Captain Ally Bartlett (55 Hurdles), Senior Dorothy DiMascio-Donohue  (Long Jump) and Junior Courtney Woodward (600 Meters.)

And while the overall record looks disappointing, there have been quite a few notable performances during our dual meet schedule.  The qualifying standards for D3 entries into the Division Meet are tough to reach, but the true criteria is to be in the top 24 in Relays and Field events, and top 32 in running events.  Quite a few of you appear to have met that criteria.  With a couple of weeks to go there may be changes to those that ultimately qualify, but this morning I entered 4 Individual Girls along with 3 Relay teams for the D3 meet.  I'll have further details at practice today.  On the Boys side there are several distance runners who appear to have qualified (using the aforementioned criteria) in the 600, 1000, Mile and 2 Mile.  Anybody close will be considered.  Again . . . continue practicing, your season may not be over.

See you at 2:30.  It should be fun in the rain.  Like Woodstock was 50 years ago!
