Following our meet on Wednesday and an easy day in the 60 degree rain on Thursday, some, but not all, of you had a day off yesterday. My suggestion that our distance runners use the day as a “workout” day was in fact followed by a number of you who tailored your workout for your upcoming races. I am very pleased that you did the workout on your own, and even more impressed that you designed your workout for your specific event. That core group of runners consists primarily of kids who plan to run the Patriot League Meet and the D3 Championship. There is a reason why they excel. It is obvious they are committed to improving and dedicated to working. Think about that. Most adults I know with those traits have enjoyed a lifetime of success.
Today will be an easy day of 45 minutes followed by strides, core and stretch. Tomorrow IS a day off and it’s right back at it on Monday. I hope to have something definitive on the League Meet entries by then. While some coaches want to severely restrict entries, others are trying to include as many kids as possible. You know where I stand on the subject, but we are all bound by the democratic process. I’ll keep you posted. But for now . . . See you at 10:00AM.
