After the D3 Relays it is back to work in preparation for next week's meet versus Hingham. First, a couple of items.
The MSTCA announced its All-Academic XC Teams for 2014 yesterday. Sam Evans, Lukas Moscoso and Kelsey Tierney were named to the D3 Eastern Mass teams. Samantha Coletti was named to BOTH the D3 Eastern Mass team AND the D1 All-State team. The MSTCA selects its team on the basis of both academic, reflected in the student-athletes cumulative GPA, and athletic excellence, as evidenced by the results of the Eastern Mass and All State Championship Meets.
There were a number of outstanding performances this past weekend, including Caroline Mulrey's double in the 4X800 (in which the team qualified for the D3 championship meet) and DMR, Abbie Newman's performance in the shotput, and Jack Ryan's 1200 in the DMR, but the GAME BALL goes to Samantha Coletti who, after opening the Sprint Medley with a 2:14- 800, came back a short time later to run a 5:10 Mile in the Distance Medley.
Today, we're on the Track. Following Warmup and a 10 min easy run, it will be 8 X 200, with a 10 minute cooldown jog and stretching. See you then . . .
