PRACTICE - THURSDAY, AUGUST 27, 2015 (Yes, that is correct!)

I mentioned at our meeting yesterday that the XC Blog evolves during the year from a motivational/technical/informational tool to become the means of letting you know in advance what is scheduled for the day's practice.  Those entries will look something like this:

FIRST DAY OF PRACTICE - AUGUST 27, 2015

Meet on the Track at 2:30 (Attendance taken - be sure to notify the Coach if you will NOT be there)

Warm up as a team (you can take a look at the earlier entry regarding our warm up)

50 Minutes at Easy pace - out toward Town Park and back (now refer to the Summer Training Plan . . . by August 27th, 50 minutes will be no problem!)

6 X 60 Strides on the grass (more on this later)

Stretch (again, more on this later)

Core Training (you can refer to the Core Circuit routine published earlier - we will be doing the entire circuit.  The more often you do it during the summer, the easier it will be in August!)

We should conclude by 4:30.

There you have it.  By my count, 71 days advance notice!  It may, for some, seem an insurmountable task, but if you start now you WILL be ready.  I will be ready, and I'll be going every step of the way with you (albeit at a relatively slower pace!)  In the meantime, the Captains have some things planned, including a group run after school on June 22nd.  Start challenging yourself June 22nd and prepare yourself for long distance running . . . it may prove to be (as it has for me) a LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE!
