Countdown . . .

One week from today the 2015 Cross Country season kicks off.  The coaching staff is eXCited about the upcoming season and anxious to meet this year's team.  After introductions we will conduct our first practice session.  If you've followed the blog this summer you may recall the June 17th entry which follows, word for word:

FIRST DAY OF PRACTICE - AUGUST 27, 2015
Meet on the Track at 2:30 (Attendance taken - be sure to notify the Coach if you will NOT be there)

Warm up as a team (you can take a look at the earlier entry regarding our warm up)

50 Minutes at Easy pace - out toward Town Park and back (now refer to the Summer Training Plan . . . by August 27th, 50 minutes will be no problem!)

6 X 60 Strides on the grass (more on this later)

Stretch (again, more on this later)

Core Training (you can refer to the Core Circuit routine published earlier - we will be doing the entire circuit.  The more often you do it during the summer, the easier it will be in August!)

We should conclude by 4:30.

You are again reminded that if you are unable to attend for any reason you should advise me via e-mail at stevegeo@post.harvard.edu or via text at 781-367-8487.  This is our policy throughout the season.

There you have it - forewarned is forearmed.  I will continue to use this Blog as my primary means of communication with the team/parents.  Plans for practice are usually posted daily.  Meet plans, travel arrangements and results are posted regularly.  While I absolutely encourage feedback and questions, most of the information you need from me will appear in this forum.  My hope is that you and your parents will refer to the Blog every day.  I don't like "surprises" so I attempt to afford you the same courtesy.

I mentioned to the kids at one of our evening Core sessions that I have never been more excited as a Coach coming into a season in any sport than I am this year.  I feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with incredible Assistants and a wonderful group of talented young people.  I am focused on making this a successful season for ALL of you.  The journey begins in 7 days . . .
