Post Script and Friday 10/23/15

Today was a very good practice - those who put in the effort will reap the reward.  It should be a confidence builder as well for the back of the pack.  If you completed all 8 hill repeats you ran 4.6 miles and 1.6 were hard and uphill.  The Twilight Meet is on for Saturday and frankly, some of our top 10 spots are up for grabs.  The Patriot League Meet rules allow only 10 runners in the Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls races.  (The same holds true for the JV races . . . 10 maximum.)  EMass is even more restrictive, only 7 runners from each team can participate.  Almost all of you have made some improvement during the season, we are now at crunch time.  If you want a spot in the League Meet or at EMass you have two opportunities to earn it, the Twilight Meet on Saturday and the Hanover meet next week.  I mentioned some time ago that unlike other sports, selection for post-season in our sport is relatively easy.  There is no subjectivity, your fate is determined by your effort and my stopwatch.  If you want it bad enough, you'll do everything you can to achieve it.

Tomorrow is an easy day . . . three miles.  Warm up at 2:30, Easy Pace down Franklin, right on Winter, left on South Ave, left on Franklin and return.  Strides, Stretch and head out for a good night's rest and relaxation, preparing to be on that bus at 1:00PM!  We'll see who wants it . . .
