I'm not speaking for the other coaches but I believe we were all impressed by the efforts of both the Boys and Girls teams last evening in our meet versus Hingham. Every athlete gave a 100% effort against very talented opposition. As I noted, Samantha Coletti and Abbie Newman ran qualifying races in the Mile and 1000, respectively. But the "game ball" on the Girls team goes to Nicole Norve who actually improved her 2 Mile time over last week and ran a great anchor leg in the 4 X 400. Both were incredible performances given the fact Nicole was unable to run on Monday with a persistent foot injury.
Full results of last night's meet have not been updated on www.athletic.net as yet, but I will have them available for you at today's practice.
This morning our practice gets under way at 10:00AM and it will be an Easy run of 30 Minutes, Strides, Core and Stretch for our Distance/Mid-Distance crew. With four days of no formal practice to follow I am trying to get a quality workout in, keeping in mind your efforts of last night. We will return to practice on Monday 12/28 at 10:00AM. Of course you are encouraged to run on your own on two days of the four "off" days. The suggestion is a long run at Easy pace of 40-60 minutes, and a Tempo run of 10-20-10. I would also suggest you run Thursday and Saturday, taking Friday and Sunday off.
In the spirit of Christmas I wish each of you and your families the happiest and most joyous of holidays and a prosperous and memorable 2016!
