Thursday - September 15, 2016

A high of only 70 degrees today . . . nice!  It should make our workouts comfortable.  More comfortable than yesterday anyway.  Some of you will have some aches and pains following yesterday's workout, but in building overall strength there is a down side in the short term.  We'll get through it, and you will ultimately reduce the likelihood of injury.  Twenty of you completed the "Ironstrength" workout with me yesterday.  For those of you who believe running is the only means of becoming a better runner, you may be interested in reading a short review of this workout at:

I can relate personally to the "wobbly, aged chimp" reference.  Today we will separate into a number of groups (by gender and ability) following our warmup. Tempo runs for those who did the Ironstrength workout, hills for all others.  NO additional strength and conditioning today (I can hear the cheers!) but abs and stretching are a part of every day as usual.  Details will follow at 2:30 after we move the high jump mats under cover.

Congratulations again to "game ball" winners Niki Kamperides, Adam Solari, Bryce Pulkinen and Nicole Norve based on performances versus Hanover, and to those whose results (sub 23:00 Boys, sub 27:00 Girls) warranted moving up to the "Invitational" group!

See you then!
