Today we will NOT be holding a formal practice. Good distance runners are disciplined creatures of habit. You don't need the coaches to oversee what you expect from yourself the day before a race. If you need a reminder, it is in a prior post. We are counting on you getting back to your winning ways versus a capable Silver Lake team which is well coached and always competitive. Get out there. Enjoy the cooler temperature. Prepare.
Reason #7 for running . . . let the music do the work. Creating a playlist to correspond with your projected running effort is a great way to train. For example, I have several "tempo run" playlists, which correspond with the easy, fast, easy pace of my run. I even have a "tempo song." In the crazy, but true, category I once did a Yasso 800 workout (google it) while listening to the same song with each 800. 2 minutes moderate, 45 seconds fast, then hold pace to complete 800 well before completion of the song . . . an "oldie" but a goodie by my favorite artists:

Tomorrow . . . on the Track at 3:00PM.
And Captains . . . Thanks again for your thoughfulness!
