The miserable weather could not "dampen" our training efforts although it did provide an opportunity for some to work inside on Saturday. Others got the weekend off after weeks of 6 training sessions each.
Today, we move forward. Runners currently 1-8, with a summer of base training and five weeks of strength training, will move into the "speed" phase. Following a warm up and a 10 minute jog it will be 8 x 400 at R(epetition) Pace for the Boys. That is, for our fastest Boys approximately 77-94 seconds. Recovery = 100 Meter jog +. For the Girls, nearly all of whom are coming off injuries it will be I(nterval) Pace. A tad slower with times of 1:42 - 2:02. Recovery = 100 Meter jog +. A 10 Minute jog to cool down with Abs and Stretching to close it out.
All others will be running 6 x 400 with a short hill following their warmup and a 10 minute jog. 10 Minute cool down jog, 10 minute Strength and Conditioning and 10 minute stretch will close it out.
