BOYS
The Whitman-Hanson Boys Cross Country team won the Patriot League Championship Meet today at Pembroke High School. The Panthers edged second place Duxbury over the 5K course by only 2 points. The team's scorers were outstanding on the way to beating favorites Plymouth North and Hingham as well. Junior Captain Jack Ryan placed 4th overall in a time of 17:23 over the wet and muddy terrain to lead W-H. Whitman-Hanson had its other top finishers finish in the top 20. SR Captains Lukas Moscoso (10th, 17:42) and Bryce Pulkinen (16th, 17:49) ran extremely well in their final Patriot League meet. Juniors Andrew Newman (15th, 17:45) and Cam Wilson (19th, 17:55) will be counted on, along with Jack Ryan to defend W-H's title in 2017.
Following the meet Ryan, Moscoso, Newman and Pulkinen were named to the Patriot League's Keenan Division All Star team.
GIRLS
The Panthers were only beaten by ranked teams Pembroke and North Plymouth on its way to a third place finish at the Patriot League Championship Meet. As they have done all season Captains Nicole Norve (6th, 20:08) and Olivia Morse (18th, 21:21) led the way. Julia Cosgrave (34th, 22:17), Camryn Boyce (42nd, 22:54) and Maeve Rooney (44th, 22:56) closed out the scoring.
The Lady Panthers also had several team members selected for the Keenan Division All Star Team. Nicole Norve, Olivia Morse and Julia Cosgrave were named to the 15 member squad.
In JV action FR Maddie Navicky (13th, 23:50) and FR Brandon Hager (7th, 19:24) were Whitman-Hanson's top finishers.
