No FORMAL practice for Distance runners is scheduled for Saturday. Coach Tim plans to be at the track at 9:00AM for anybody wishing to practice the javelin. Of course, you are expected to run one day this weekend and take the other day off. The workout . . . a TEMPO run. You're all at various training/experience levels, but the workout is geared specifically for you. Simply take the total time you ran LONG today and reduce that number (in minutes) to 2/3, up to a max of 45 minutes. So, let's pretend I ran 90 minutes today. My TEMPO tempo run at 2/3 would total 60 minutes. But because I have been asked to go only a max of 45 minutes, that is my time on the road. Tempo will be 1/3, 1/3, 1/3. For me in this example, I would go easy for 15, take it up to threshold for 15 minutes, and back to easy for the final 15. Simple, right? Text with questions! Stretch. One more time, stretch. Abs again are optional.
I expect Monday to be easy leading up to our meet with Hingham. Lineups are pending. Get out there Saturday or Sunday!
ALSO: For those of you who are jumpers, you may wish to (actually, it is strongly suggested) you complete the plyometric workout found at the following link:
