Weather looks tough for practice.  If it is raining we will convene on the Indoor Track.  But, rest assured, we will convene!  We have another important, and competitive, meet coming up Tuesday at Duxbury.  Preparation is always the key to this sport.

I am putting together plans for a 9 week Couch to 5K program for the summer.  The hope is to motivate anybody interested to work toward the goal of completing a 5K (3.1 Mile) race.  Right now I am looking at Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings at the W-H Track beginning the week of June 20th.  ALL are invited.  While we may generate some interest in Cross Country and Track, that is not the goal.  Nor is commitment to our XC and Track programs a prerequisite to participation.  Other sports have a running prerequisite and those athletes are welcome to prepare with the C25K program.  As some of you know I have had a recent setback which has resulted in my inability to continue running.  I can however state, without question, that running for decades saved my life and has allowed me to continue to otherwise live a healthy and for me, rewarding life.  Any form of running, whether it be long or short, fast or slow, competitive or recreational, is generally beneficial and can even be exhilarating.  It was for me.  I know, with the opportunity, somebody else may experience the same.  Please pass the word along.  Much more about this to follow in the upcoming weeks.
