Deadlines, Decisions and Disappointments

The postponement of yesterday's Meet created one additional problem for your Coach.  The deadline for entries to the Martha's Vineyard Invitational was midnight . . . yesterday.  I had to make decisions based on a number of factors which, unfortunately, do not include the results of the meet versus Quincy/N. Quincy.  The following athletes have been entered, however there was no requirement to designate the race in which each athlete would be entered.  The Coaches are committed to running the Freshman Boys in the Freshman race, but how it breaks down for the Varsity/JV Boys and Girls races is to be determined.

GIRLS  (13): Boss, Boyce, Carleton, Cosgrave, Craven, DiMascio-Donohue, Donovan, McDonough, Navicky, Norve, Rooney, Ryan, Wilson

BOYS (15): Avery, Burns, Cafferty, Coletti, Hager, Kamperides, MacDonald, Newman, O'Brien, Ryan, Solari, Tyrie, Uva A., Uva D., Wilson

The forecast for Martha's Vineyard is mostly sunny with a high of 71 degrees.  Items you should bring include:

UNIFORM (yes, some have forgotten in the past)
Running Shoes (the course is entirely grass/dirt, no asphalt)
Extra socks (If you've ever experienced running in wet socks you know why)
Appropriate pre and post race clothing (the ferry, especially if outside, can be chilly)
Spending Money (we will be in Oak Bluffs for about 2 hours or so where there is plenty of post race food, goodies, etc.  There are also t-shirts for sale at the race.)
Sunscreen (SUNNY and 71 degrees, nobody your age should ever get skin cancer)

I know some may be disappointed they will not be participating on Saturday.  I promise to follow through on my pledge to get us ALL there in 2018.  Any questions should be addressed immediately.  See me at 2:45 today OR contact me via e-mail at stevegeo@comcast.net  .  SHORT texts to 781-367-8487.  See you all at 2:45.

PANTHERS!!

Question yesterday . . . What is Hurling?  Highlights of the last match at Fenway . . .
