Wednesday, 11/22/2017 - Eve of the W-H and Abington Football Rivalry

First and foremost, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  I am truly grateful for many things . . . MANY things. But near the top of that long list is the opportunity to work, with and for, some of the nicest people I know.  Thank you WHRHS and coaches, along with kids and parents (past and present.)

The book? Fiction, but worth a read.  One of the hundreds of books Mrs. Coach wants me to donate.  But I may take another look.

11/22/63.  Just one of those life-changing moments when, as a 7th grader (54 years ago!  Really?) I spent the weekend in front of my grandmother's black and white, mesmerized by the news coverage. Subsequently visited Dallas, Arlington National Cemetery, and JFK Library many times.  Read countless (non-fiction) books on the subject.  And while my opinion of JFK can best be described as ambivalent (he squeezes into my list of top 10 Presidents), there is little doubt about the impact the events of 1963 had on my generation.
