Tuesday - December 5, 2017 Lots of things . . .

Tonight from 6:00-8:00PM (or thereabouts) we will hold the XC banquet to celebrate this past years Cross Country team.  Sue Moss will make her yearly presentation and awards will be presented.  We will also be asking each team member to vote for next year's XC Captains.  A formal announcement of those selected will be made later in the week.  As you know, you were all asked to nominate yourselves if you had interest in becoming a Captain.  Eligible nominees are (1) Seniors Class of 2019, or (2) Juniors, Class of 2020, with two years of XC experience.  The following are being considered based on the foregoing:

Boys: Brandon Hager, Caleb Parkinson, Shane Schraut, Adam Solari
Girls: Victoria Boss, Dorothy DiMascio-Donohue, Maeve McDonough, Maeve Rooney

You will be asked to select TWO from the list.  Coaches will exercise votes, if necessary, in order to break ties.

I hope we have a good turnout this evening . . . Parents are strongly encouraged to attend.

Congratulations to our XC All-Scholastics!  Andrew Newman, Jack Ryan, Julia Cosgrave and Nicole Norve were selected for this year's Brockton Enterprise All-Scholastic Cross Country team.  A reminder to them  that pictures will be taken at the Brockton Enterprise Office today (Tuesday) or tomorrow (Wednesday) at 1324 Belmont St., Unit 102, Brockton, MA 02301 from 4-7 p.m.. Please wear an article of clothing that represents your school/sport.

Track & Field notes:  While we are a mere week away from our first meet versus Hingham, (December 13 at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center at 5:30 PM) we are not yet close to where we need to be if we hope to be competitive.  Less than two weeks to develop conditioning can be frustrating to both coaches and athletes  I guess that was my thinking when I changed the picture (above) on Day 1.  Those that want and expect to achieve his/her full potential will make the effort required.  There is plenty of room at the top for those willing to do so.

Today for the Mid-distance and Distance runners it will be an "Easy" day.  That is, slower, but longer running, as we try to get you ready for competition.  There will be ample time following running for field events.  Sprinters/Jumpers/Throwers will work with event coaches.
