Verbosity - Back to Reality

Or in this case, "wordiness" anyway.  Nate Rollins, a young writer with the Whitman-Hanson Express sent over questions he has, and hopes to write about, in regards to our Girls T&F team.  You'll be able to glean those questions and responses from an upcoming article no doubt, but those questions were helpful in my assessment of where we stand at the moment.  It will be difficult to replace athletes who we could count on for 5, 10 or even 15 points in each meet, but I am very optimistic about the future.  We have some good, young athletic talent, and in time the youngsters on this team will achieve everything their predecessors did . . . and then some.  Now it would be "verbosity" if I were to name names and expectations at what is a very, very early point in our season.  At this juncture it would only be words.  Suffice it to say however, newcomers will be critical in us having a successful season.

Injury and illness, along with greater numbers, caused Dawn and I to consider adding a third Captain.  As most of you already know, Camry Boyce, already a Captain for XC and LAX, has been added as a Captain for this season.  Her athletic ability is unquestionable, and she has already shown herself to be a fantastic leader.  Three Captains is not unprecedented by the way.  In fact, in years past we have had three Captains more often than two!  Congratulations to Camo!

On the subject of three Captains . . . I am pleased to announce that the Girls XC team will have three Captains next Fall.  Maeve McDonough, Dorothy DiMascio-Donohue and Maeve Rooney were all selected by the team in voting that rivaled the Kennedy-Nixon election of 1960. (Google it.) And on the Boys side, the 2018 XC team will be led by Junior Adam Solari and Shane Schraut.  Congratulations to all!  Your first task, and one that is ongoing . . . recruit!

Enough for now . . . ZZZZZzzzzzzz
