Checked the countdown today?  Time flies . . .

"Core at four" resumes this evening.  Coach S has promised a surprise for those that attend this evening's session!  Don't miss out!

Those attending Tuesday's session received a "surprise" of sorts . . . a very challenging core/strength workout.  I don't want to spoil the surprise in store for tonight's workout, but it will probably NOT be quite as difficult as Tuesday's.

That said, I know I've referenced the Admiral McRaven speech over the last couple of weeks, but it really made an impact on me.  One of the examples he uses as motivation for the young people to whom he makes that speech took place during his Navy SEAL candidate training.  Each of the trainees was asked to complete multiple physical events every day while in training.  These were difficult events with standards established for completion. Trainees unable to meet those standard were "invited" to an additional 2 hour session of training.  An extra session was known as a "circus."  In time, every candidate was subjected to a "circus," some more than others. After an exhausting regular day of exercise, calisthenics, running, etc., none of the candidates wanted more of it.  But a funny thing resulted from this extra work.  Those candidates who accepted the extra work improved their performances, their resiliency and their inner strength.  The point McRaven says, "If you want to change the world, don't be afraid of circuses."

' Nuff said . . . see you at 4:00!
