Fun (and Easy) Friday, September 14, 2018

Today's workout falls between two Race days so we anticipate an Easy run for all with one minor twist for that front group.  (Cone drill on grass.)

Before getting to some analysis of yesterday's race, the details of tomorrow's race are as follows:

The Big Wave Invitational takes place at Apponequet Regional High School, 100 Howland Road, Lakeville, MA.  There are 4 races which start at 9:30; Freshman/Sophomore Girls, F/S Boys, Junior/Senior Girls, J/S Boys.  The bus departs at 7:15AM and we should return about 1:00PM.
ALL are welcome to attend, however due to time restrictions not all athletes have been entered.  Those who have missed our three Saturday practices are also not registered.  And finally, some of you have already indicated you would be unable to participate.  Entries follow:

F/S GIRLS: Boulger, Bourgelas, Flynn, Haboub, Wagner

F/S BOYS: Carron, Caterer, Danicki, Filicicchia, Haboub, Masone, Anderson, Cafferty, Guilmet, Hughes, Humfryes, Kamperides, MacDonald, McCarthy, Savicke

J/SR GIRLS: Boss, Carleton, Kamperides, Navicky, Wilson, Craven. DiMascio-Donohue, Graham, Hunt, McDonough, Pulling, Rooney

J/SR BOYS:  Bui, Burns, Hager, Hanley, Solari, Mateus, Newman, Schraut

If there are any questions concerning entries please speak with me at practice Friday.

Following yesterday's races, at least a few of you came to me with what you called "excuses" for your performances.  Webster (as in the Dictionary) may disagree, but I prefer to hear and/or provide "explanations" of what may or may not have occurred yesterday.  My explanation is simply this . . . You lost to a better team on its home course by a slim margin.  EVERY runner had to deal with bridges, mud covered trails and large puddles, BUT there is a home "course" advantage.  Hanover made full use of it.  The truth is your mile splits and results were fairly predictable and you met them.  It was your opponent that exceeded expectations.  Congratulations Hanover.

We head to Duxbury next week.  No excuses.

See you at 2:30 . . .
