Funny you should mention that . . .

In the previous post I mentioned rules, and specifically the 10% rule regarding weekly increases in mileage.  Coincidentally, I received the following via e-mail this morning:

https://www.runtastic.com/blog/en/running-injury-cause/?ut=2d477dd44cc8b2d0eee30ccc0261a3d0af7212de&utm_source=runtastic&utm_medium=email.newsletter&utm_campaign=newsletter_us&utm_content=blog_common_running_injury&utm_term=2019-06-05&ems_dl=645781705_WhEegHcq7H_25384_1824819_5_2000001

The last thing you want is an injury and the two minutes it takes to read the article will be time well spent in injury prevention.  That said, if you start running in August to prepare for our season you are running the risk of injury (not to mention disappointment) so begin your training soon.  Build up slowly . . . with 10% weekly total increases.  You'll have a far more enjoyable, and memorable, season.

We're hoping to see many of you at our pre-summer training meeting today scheduled for 1:45 in the school cafeteria.  For those unable to attend I will have the same meeting tomorrow (Thursday) at the same time to accommodate you.  Specifics regarding summer training expectations will be discussed along with other relevant topics.  See you there.
