Saturday 10/10, Practice # 20; Sunday 10/11 ; Monday 10/12, Practice #21

Thank you to the 36 dedicated athletes who participated in Saturday's "Long Run", many of whom took on the challenge of increasing their effort and running his/her longest run-to-date.  It has been gratifying for the coaches to observe the improvement among the athletes.  It may sound hyperbolic but its true, some of you couldn't run a lap when you arrived three weeks ago, and now you're going 4-5 miles.  That is a tremendous accomplishment.  Congratulations.

I'm looking at my weekly goals on my bulletin board by my desk as I write these words and I hope each of you has documented your short term goals.  As Coach S suggested, you don't have to share them with us, but be aware of them.  Write them down and revisit them regularly.  That will go a long way in helping you achieve them.

A couple of tough meets this week at home.  The Girls go up against Hingham on Tuesday, with the Boys hosting on Thursday. The Boys appear to have won the better weather day, with sun and 70 degrees forecast.  The Girls day won't be all that bad with some rain and 60+ temperatures in the forecast.  Hingham has always provided a big test for our teams and this year will be no different.  The Girls team alone has 70 athletes on its roster and they are a talented team.  The Boys are always well coached and deep.  Prepare yourselves for a challenge.  We're confident you'll meet those goals you've established, and when you do you may just surprise a few people.

We will continue to prepare on Monday with practice at 2:30.  The Girls will go easy in anticipation of Tuesday's race, the Boys (all groups) will all have a workout.

Groups 1 and 2 -  Mile Loop; 8 x 400; Mile Loop     Core, Stretch

Groups 3, 4 and 5 -  Short Loop; 5, 6, 7 X 300; Short Loop       Core, Stretch

Enjoy the day off.  Back at it tomorrow . . .

    1. I'm not entirely sure what that means but a quick google search indicates "no lie" or "for real." Now I'm not sure of the relevance . . .
