Please . . . a reminder about user fees and the requirement to complete a user fee form.  Those who have not had this matter addressed were provided with Mr. Rodgers e-mail on the subject.  Please take care of it.  Thank you.  Now back to coaching . . .

The Boys Varsity Cross Country team traveled to the Martha's Vineyard Invitational on Saturday.  Junior Andrew Newman led the way for the Boys finishing 12th overall in 17:19 over the 5K course.  Other finishers were Captains Lukas Moscoso (21st; 17:39), Jack Ryan (33rd, 18:07), and Bryce Pulkinen (44th, 18:19.)  Alex Uva (71st, 19:25,) Cam Wilson (75th, 19:39) and Joe Coletti (92nd, 21:23) finished out the scoring for the Panthers.  Overall, Whitman-Hanson finished 7th out of 17 teams in a very strong field.
The WH Girls Cross Country team finished 11th in a challenging field of talented distance runners at
today's Martha's Vineyard Invitational..  Captains Nicole Norve (22nd overall; 21:32) and Olivia Morse
(28th overall; 21:47) were Whitman-Hanson's top runners on the 5K course.  Behind the Captains were
Julia Cosgrave (64th; 23:33) Lillian Perkins-Reisdorf (73rd; 24:15.) W-H runners also finishing in the team's
top seven were Camryn Boyce (81st; 25:11) Maeve Rooney (82nd, 25:13 and Victoria Carleton (86th; 25:49.)
The coaches were very happy with the performances of our athletes at Martha's Vineyard.
There were some very strong individual performances as well as a great team effort.  The
weather was a little warmer than we had hoped for and it was never "overcast" as forecast.
In fact, I don't recall seeing any clouds.  But it was a great day and with any luck we'll
return next year (Sorry Bryce, Lukas and Olivia!)  One thing was fairly evident in Saturday's
meet. There are some great teams out there, some of which we must compete within our
League AND our Division.  We'll be taking it up a notch or two over the next couple of
weeks.  But before we do we have Hanover on our schedule for Tuesday at home.  The
Hanover Boys team is young and improving, the Girls team is talented.  Hanover has a well
coached team that deserves respect.  We'll be prepared to give it our best.
But tomorrow will be an easy day in anticipation of Tuesday's meet.  Experienced runners
will run independently while the coaches take our newcomers and those needing a review
on a run through the home course.  You know the drill that follows . . . strides, core, abs,
stretch.
Be there . . . 2:30!
