Friday - October 21, 2016

Happy Birthday, Mo Lewis, whose claim to fame may be he is directly responsible for Tom Brady becoming the Patriots starting quarterback.

Practice will get underway on Friday at 11:00 due to early dismissal.  We will switch things up just a bit.  Those heading to the Bay State Meet on Saturday will hold a 30 minute shakeout run with strides, abs and stretching.  All others will be working out (presumably on the track) with 10 minute easy runs before and after but certainly not DURING the workout.  Reps and distances will be detailed at 11:00AM.  Of course, abs and stretching are a requisite each day.  They will follow.

Today's new picture is intended for those who may be considering skipping Saturday's run.  While I am very hopeful many of you will participate in the NHS sponsored road race I understand it may not be possible for some.  Those kids should get out and run 35-40 easy minutes on their own.  At some point we hope running becomes something other than work for you.  We honestly hope you learn to enjoy running and look forward to it each day.  We hope you are motivated by your improvement, and we hope to see you strive to continue that improvement.  Running, for many, including your coaches, is a lifelong endeavor.  The benefits are too numerous to list here, but I'll continue my countdown some of the best reasons to run over the final weeks of the season. Stick with it.  In time you'll create your own list.  For now though, running gives you something healthy to do at 11:00AM.  See you then . . .
