Distance and mid-distance runners, following today's indoor practice on the hard surface will have Friday off. The "real feel" temperature tomorrow will be a balmy 8 degrees and two consecutive days on concrete won't help those legs. We will instead, practice on Saturday at 9:00AM when the "real feel" temperature is expected to be 30 degrees higher than Friday. We can work around any precipitation.
Working back from next Friday's meet we anticipate hard days on Monday and Wednesday. Saturday will be, if things work out, a tempo run of varying times among the groups. Some will go 15:15:15, (15 Easy, 15 Hard, 15 Easy) others will be going 10/5;10/5;10/5 (10 Easy, 5 Hard X 3), still others will go somewhere in between. Core, 22, Stretch to follow.
Think about the upcoming meet and what event(s) you might like to participate in. Be sensible. Ideally, you can try an event in which you may achieve a qualifying time. Perhaps you know you are capable of running 600 or 1000 meters but have been working with the sprinters all season (I know a few of that type.) Maybe you'd like to step out of your comfort zone and run a 4 x 400. Let us know.
Stay warm tomorrow and we'll see you Saturday morning . . .
