Friday, 12/23 Patriot League Results

This write-up was sent to Administration following last night's meet:

On Friday evening the Girls Track team traveled to The Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center to compete in the Patriot League Open Holiday Meet.  Outstanding performances by Alexandra Santos, Nicole Norve, Olivia Reed and Dorothy Dimascio-Donohue highlighted the event.  Santos improved on her 55 Meter with a 7.77 effort, tops in the Patriot League this year, and improved on her Long Jump by nearly a half-foot with a jump of 16' 3.5".  Nicole Norve finished first overall in the 1000 Meter run with the top time in the meet of 3:14.94, qualifying for the D3 Championship Meet to be held in February.  Olivia Reed also qualified for the D3 Championship Meet with a High Jump of 4" 11", matching her best to date. And Dorothy Dimascio-Donohue excelled in multi events recording a 9.95 in the 55 Hurdles, 15' 11.25" in the Long Jump and a team best of 25' 2" in the Shot Put.

Other notable results included Lily Nolan in the 300 Meter run (44.91), Olivia Morse in the 600 (1:46.19) and Long Jumper Lily Perkins-Reisdorf (15' 9".)

Despite the format and the lack of any specific opponent, it was a good night based on the results.  In addition to the Girls results reported in the above, I was really impressed with the overall performance of our Distance/Mid-Distance Group.  In particular Jack Ryan, Lukas Moscoso, Andrew Newman, Matt Avery, Ian Duffey, Drew Tassey, Cam Wilson, Julia Cosgrave, Victoria Boss and Courtney Woodward to name a few.  Your hard work is beginning to pay off and I anticipate continued improvement and success in the weeks to come.  Of course, we have to continue the work to accomplish your goals.  We do not have a formal practice scheduled until Tuesday at 3:00.  In the interim, my group should run EASY today (30-45 Minutes) and Monday (30-45 Minutes.)  High mileage kids (you know who you are) can go 60, but you don't need any more than that. Tuesday will be a workout, so save a little bit of energy for it!

In the spirit of Christmas I wish all of you Happy Holidays (yes, that IS politically correct!) Thank you for what, thus far, has been a most rewarding season!  See you Tuesday . . .
