One week to our first meet . . .


With the schedule what it is we are forced to accelerate the training process, but the most important thing we do is keep you injury free and healthy.  That said, the distance/mid distance group will split up.  Not in two directions as mentioned yesterday, but three.

All will warm up on the track.  All will also complete a "school loop" (which takes about 8 minutes.)  If this is new to you, pay attention, you will probably traverse the route 4 more times with pick ups between the orange cones on the path between the Track and Gym.  A workout on the Track at this point will not serve all well, so the inexperienced will continue with this type of training for today anyway.

The more experienced will be on the Track following the school loop and will be divided into two groups. Those likely to run the longer distances (i.e. Mile, 2 Mile) will have a workout consisting of the following (with a short cool down jog post reps):

3 X 400
2 X 800
3 X 400

Those who will likely be headed toward the 600 and 1000 will have a workout of:

3 X 200
2 X 400
1 X 600
2 X 400
3 X 200

ALL groups will complete 10 X 1 Min Abs, "22" and Stretching.  The weather WILL cooperate today!!!
