A Week of Surprises . . .

Yesterday at practice I learned of the Brockton Enterprise All-Scholastic Awards ceremony and that most of our XC all-scholastic athletes attended.  This is a first of its kind to the best of my knowledge.  The Enterprise has made a very nice effort to acknowledge area athletes and I am happy that most of you were able to attend.

Today while perusing through political news I found an article relating to the aformentioned ceremony which reads in part:

GIRLS CROSS-COUNTRY

NICOLE NORVE
Whitman-Hanson
Junior captain is Patriot League All-Star. ... Named team MVP. ... Placed fourth at EMass Championships with personal record of 19:38. ....Was 30th at All-States. ... Most memorable moment was finishing fourth at EMass Championships. ... Favorite athletes are Sam Coletti and Jenny Simpson. ... Favorite class is anatomy and Physiology. ... Enjoys drawing. ... Plans to go to college for exercise physiology. ... "Nicole is a born leader and a exemplary teammate. Her work ethic is impeccable and she earns the respect and admiration of our younger runners at each practice," coach Steve George said.
Congratulations to Nicole on being named the Brockton Enterpise Girls XC Player of the Year!!!!!

And finally, I just checked Accu-weather and the forecast is for light snow beginning at 1:00PM right up to 10:00PM.  So, we will have to "play it by ear" and at least start our practice indoors (assuming no early dismissal.)  Whatever the terrain it will be an easy day for the distance runners . . . see you soon!
