It may be drizzly around race time, but I'm thinking that may, in fact, favor us. A little slower race overall, your familiarity with the course, and your confidence may just be enough to make a difference.
Today, the final home meet for the Seniors, is important for just that reason alone. I have had the privilege of coaching this entire group through their four years of XC at Whitman-Hanson and I will have nothing but fond memories of each and every one of them. Each, in their own way, has made a valuable contribution to the team. Whether it is in their work ethic, ability, humor, cheerfulness, leadership, intellect, or sportsmanship; Tom, Joey, Bennett, Andrew, Jack, Bryan, Alex, Austin, Cam, Camryn, Tasha, Julia C., Julia D., and Nicole have made this a fabulous experience for me. I am grateful to each of you for all you have done for the team, school, coaching staff, and your teammates. My hope is that running remains part of your life and that you remain healthy, happy and successful in the years to come.
The rest of you will have to tolerate me a little longer, I have no plans to retire just yet. Yesterday I mentioned my ideal place to live. I even went home and found my "Dream Home!" You can view it here . . .

Unfortunately, I'm about 20+ years too late . . . at this point I would have to hire 3 or 4 people to simply maintain it. I'm no longer capable of that challenge. But, if the years to come at W-H are anything close to the years past, I'll be in a better place anyway . . . See you all at 3:00PM.
