Thank You for Your Donation to Friends of Boston's Homeless on the coldest day of the year

At today's practice I asked 24 of you kids to complete your strides outside in the cold.  Of course, you did this under supervision and while still warm and they took less than 3 minutes, but I am certain you understood that those conditions are less than ideal for any activity.  Can you imagine what it might be like to live on the street, without the option and certainty that within minutes you would return to the warmth and comfort of home (or the school?)  I told you I had a reason for going outside and along with the teaching moment it provided, it also provided me with the pictures that accompanied a donation made to the Friends of Boston's Homeless  https://www.fobh.org/  in your names.  In this time of giving (and for many of us, myself included, receiving) the best feeling of all is often experienced when extending a helping hand to others less fortunate than ourselves.  Thank you for your help in our doing so.
