Several inquiries have been made with respect to our award for perfect attendance which some years back was the brainchild of our own Coach S and which has been dubbed the "Commitment Award."  The "Commitment Award" is presented to those student athletes who attend EVERY practice and finish EVERY Dual Meet during the season.  It is not intended to be an easy accomplishment.  In many respects, luck plays a part equal to that of dedication.  There are after all many of you who become ill during the season, have academic testing commitments or family vacations which you, as children, have no control over.  We recognize that.  As a parent of former high school athletes I understand how difficult it is to maintain perfect attendance. Each of my children experienced injuries during high school which kept them out of action for a time.  So, while earning this award may be very difficult, it is intended to recognize those who are perhaps lucky enough to get to practice day in and day out and compete in all our Patriot League races.  It is an award not dependent on physical abilities or results, but on your willingness and ability to simply be there.

Today our front groups will be working repeats of varied distances on our course.  It should be interesting.  I am certain Coach S and Coach Richner have something up tempo planned for their groups as well.  We still have a lot of competition remaining and you'll want to be ready.  We may even have a dry course next week when Silver Lake visits us on WEDNESDAY (note change from Tuesday.)  We may get a shower today, but no further precipitation is in the 10 day forecast. Will we see more improvement?

2:30 then.  Be there.
